Although many are still reluctant to take their kids with them, travelling with your family can have its upsides. First of all, you will receive honest smiles, attention and help during your journey. What's more, when travelling with children, you’ll find a lot of different and interesting spots. Here is a list of eight countries where kids and their parents will feel welcome.

1. Denmark

Denmark is a wonderland for children. It is home not only to the infamous story-teller Hans Christian Andersen and his characters, but also to the world-famous LEGO toys. LEGOLAND in Bilund attracts so many families with children that an airport was built next to this small town. The country’s capital Copenhagen also has something to offer, as it is home to Tivoli, one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. The first rides were installed in 1843 – even back then Danes knew how to make their kids happy. Each year more and more family-friendly parks and museums open their doors in Denmark.

2. USA

The USA is a tourist paradise for kids and adults alike. The only drawback is the size of the country – it would be extremely difficult to travel it all with a family. However, nowhere in the world will you find such a variety of natural parks, beaches and entertainment options. The little travellers can meet their favourite characters in the legendary Disney World Park, visit mind-blowing museums, galleries and zoos, and try treats from all around the world. From New York to Los Angeles every traveller will find entertainment to their liking. And let’s not leave out Alaska and the exotic islands of Hawaii. They all offer an opportunity for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

3. Italy

Italy is another part of the world where every member of the family will find things to do – history and architecture lovers will be spoiled for choice in Rome, Venice, Florence, Pisa, Genoa and other cities. Gourmands and foodies will love Milano, Sicily and other Italian regions famous for their cuisine. Those seeking a calm holiday can choose a suitable beach, the mountains or a lakeside. Most entertainment options for children are on the seaside and in the mountains, where the best ski slopes, interesting sightseeing trails and excursions can be found.

4. Kenya

If you want to make your kids experience real childhood adventure, you should go to Kenya, where the world’s largest mammals roam freely in the green savannah. Animal refuges are open to visitors of Kenyan parks, where you can pet a rhino, feed a giraffe, and encounter chimpanzees, lions, elephants and other animals. What's more, the people of Kenya will try their best to offer you their hospitality and organize a perfect holiday.

5. Iceland

Everything is enchanting in Iceland: its geysers, hot springs, lava fields, glaciers, Europe’s tallest waterfalls, the ocean shore, the meadows that are green only for a short time, the Aurora Borealis and the midnight sun. Your kids will dream about Icelandic landscapes long after your trip is over. Locals have made sure that families with little children would have a lot of adventures. You’ll be able to go horse-riding, hiking, whale-watching, hunt elves and feel how Icelanders live. What's more, the economic crisis in Iceland somewhat reduced the prices of products and services.

6. Thailand

Although Thailand is known as a place for parties and wild holidays, this Southeast Asian country is also family-friendly. No Thai person will be able to resist your child’s smile – ven an experienced taxi driver or street vendor will probably offer you and your kids a discount. Beautiful calm beaches, canoe trips, elephant sanctuaries and tropical weather all sound like a part of a perfect family vacation.

7. Belize

Curious kids will for all their lives remember meeting monkeys, crocodiles, sea turtles and harmless sharks, and their parents have a nice rest.

Lapland is not only the home of Santa Claus. Sami tribes herd deer, ride dog sleds and enthusiastically tell tourists about survival in the land of frost, and for this, it‘s advisable to visit the country in the wintertime. However, in the summer, thousands of Finnish islands also grant unforgettable experiences.
