  1. Vietnam

For several years now, Vietnam has been a staple in every top 10 lists of cheap, exotic and adventurous regions. It’s an especially cheap country that may surprise you with its beauty and traditions. In Vietnam, you can get by on just 7 EUR per day - just think about how much you could allow yourself for 15 EUR! The Mekong Delta, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An – these are just a few of the places that should make your lengthy itinerary.

  1. Bali, Indonesia

The island of Bali is seen on lists of cheap and beautiful countries so often that it may seem a bit too touristy. On the other hand, this region has something that attracts thousands of tourists every year. First of all, it’s its cultural heritage, magnificent nature and competitive prices! Here you can still find places to spend the night for just 7 EUR. Food, entertainment and other services will not be too expensive either.

Even though Bali is an excellent place to marvel at the Indonesian culture, its beautiful beaches, natural environments and a well-developed infrastructure, don’t forget that it’s just one of 18.000 other Indonesian islands. For this reason, the whole country is worthy of becoming a part of our list.

  1. India

India coming in at third place is not going to surprise anyone either. It’s a place full of backpackers and cheap travel enthusiasts from around the world. India is one of the few places on Earth where you can feel like a raja for very little money. Although we’re not even going to begin listing the country’s natural and cultural wonders, every prospective visitor should be ready for cultural differences, a degree of chaos and tons of people everywhere. If all of this doesn’t scare you – pack your bag, take some money and set off on the adventure of your life.

  1. Cambodia

Thanks to internal warfare, a weak economy and lack of advertising, Cambodia spent many years in the shadows of Thailand, India and Vietnam. This little country, however, has just as many landmark sites, entertainment and exotics. In Cambodia, you can get a room for as little as 1-2 EUR, and street food costs even less, sometimes making you feel guilty for paying too little for services and food.

The Angkor Temple Complex is one of the most impressive historic and cultural monuments not just in Cambodia, but also in the whole world. The country’s capital Phnom Penh, compared to the larger cities of neighbouring countries, is much less hectic, which some visitors find very attractive. The beaches in Cambodia are largely comparable to those of Thailand, only with a significantly smaller number of tourists.

  1. Bulgaria

Coming in for the fifth place, we leave Asia and move on to Europe. On this continent, the best ratio of prices, services and natural environments can be found in Bulgaria. This country’s Black Sea resorts have been attracting tourists since time immemorial, and the capital city Sofia will surprise visitors with its lively culture, night life, bars and clubs.

To all of that, add the country’s mountains, lakes, Byzantine heritage, monasteries, food, friendly and attractive people, and ski resorts, and you’ll get an excellent mix that won’t cost you very much at all. In Bulgaria, 25 EUR per day will be more than enough to have a fun trip.

  1. Portugal

Portugal’s resorts Albufeira and Algarve constantly make the lists of Europe’s cheapest holiday destinations. Even though the prices here are a little higher than in Bulgaria or other Eastern European countries, Portugal is one of those countries that every traveller should visit at least once in their lifetime. Excellent beaches, the surfer-beloved Atlantic coastline, historic and dazzlingly beautiful cities, deep winemaking traditions, and the ever more popular Portuguese cuisine is all you’ll need for a great vacation.

  1. Hungary

Hungary’s capital Budapest is considered to be one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. Every year the city attracts thousands of tourists who dive head-first into its medieval castles, Austro-Hungarian streets, green parks and noisy night life. For 35 EUR per day you can enjoy traditional Hungarian food and drinks, and visit the city’s famous hot water pools and baths. Many cheap flight companies have Budapest as one of their destinations.

  1. Lithuania

In 2015 Lithuania has been steadily gaining in popularity among travellers. Lonely Planet’s top 10 list of travel destinations for this year features this Baltic country in the third place. Lots of greenery and forests, freshwater lakes, the largest Eastern European old town-containing Vilnius, sand dunes of Kuršių Nerija on the Baltic costline, the medieval Trakai Castle, located on an island in a lake, the Soviet Heritage Museum Grūto Parkas – these are all business cards of Lithuania.

It’s also one of the cheapest European Union countries, where the Euro was introduced in 2015. After the introduction of the new currency, prices in Lithuania not just failed to rise, but actually became slightly lower. Thrifty travellers will easily get by here for just 35 EUR per day.

Besides, most tourists visit all three Baltic countries at once – Latvia and Estonia have just as much to offer for a similar price.

  1. Honduras

The most popular countries of Latin America are Belize, Costa Rica and the rather less advertised Guatemala. But if you want seriously low prices and an excellent vacation, look no further than Honduras.

The country’s white sandy beaches are just as great as those in Maldives, diving here is no less wonderful than diving in the Red Sea, and the food and drinks in Honduras are simply jaw-droppingly cheap. For only 25 EUR per day you’ll be able to eat great food, go on adventures and have excellent rest. So forget about money and grab another cocktail at a local beach bar.

    10.  Bolivia

During conversations on Latin America you’ll constantly hear the names Brazil, Argentina and Peru. But in terms of natural wonders and colourful people, Bolivia, located among these countries, is certainly no less worthy of mention than its neighbour. You won’t find cheaper food and drink in Latin America than here. Every serious traveller will find hundreds of places to visit in this country.
